Quality Paintball Gun Accessories
Posted on: October 19, 2011
Paintball gun accessories obviously complement the marker in terms of making the markers more effective and efficient at doing the job. By the way, markers are the alternative name for the paintball guns mainly because these guns are used to mark the enemy with paint instead of actually firing a bullet. Keep in mind that all types of paintball gear from the gun to the clothes are only supposed to simulate military gear so there will be differences in design between the two.
Here are the most common accessories for paintball guns. It should be noted that the type of accessories bought will depend on the model of the paintball gun itself. Most models, nonetheless, are suitable for the addition of several of the following paintball gun accessories.
Barrel Blocking Device
The paintballs fired from the paintball gun can cause physical injuries when the target is not well-protected from the impact. To prevent accidental firing of the marker especially when it is not being actively used, a barrel blocking device (BBD) is placed on it. Be sure to purchase at least one type of BBD, namely, barrel covers, barrel socks and barrel plugs.
Barrel
The accuracy of markers can be improved by changing, upgrading or attaching barrels. There are three major parts in a barrel: threading, shaft and porting. The most important of these parts is the threading since this is where the barrel is connected to the marker such that barrels with separate threads to the marker will not fit each other. There are adapters but it is usually best to use the proper threading.
Paintballs
The most important of all paintball gun accessories is the paintballs themselves. Think of a gun without ammunition and this is exactly what a paintball gun without paintballs is like. Paintballs can be purchased in many colors, sizes and shell thicknesses. In most cases, all paintballs will fit standard markers although most veteran players will go for customized paints to match the diameters of their guns. Although paintballs are made from non-toxic, water-soluble and food-grade substances, these taste disagreeable and can cause gastrointestinal distress.
Hoppers or Loaders
If magazines are to rifles, then hoppers or loaders are to paintball guns. Obviously, the hoppers feed the markers with paintballs. There are two types of these paintball gun accessories to choose from, namely:
• Gravity-fed loaders are the traditional type, which have largely been replaced by the agitated loaders. This is because gravity-fed loaders often result in dry firing as well as mostly unsuitable for speed shooting.
• Agitated loaders provide for improved methods of feeing the marker with paintballs including agitation to revolution.
Other accessories for the markers include the drop forward used in repositioning the air canister; the remote line connected to the marker and tank; and the pods used to hold the paintballs. Don't forget to include the supplies used to keep the markers well-maintained including the squeegee and the lubricants.
In conclusion, paintball gun accessories are essential parts of the paintball gear for the simple reason that these enhance the fun, excitement and enjoyment of the sport.
